Carnelian will help you tap into your creativity and passion. Inspired by our namesake stone, we create a warm and vibrant space to explore and discover challenges that are impacting your well-being. Through a therapeutic approach that includes artistic expression, yoga, traditional talk therapy, and sex therapy, Carnelian offers pathways to heal personal, sexual, and relationship challenges.

Nicole Landwehr

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and Registered Yoga Teacher

Nicole Landwehr (she/they), PhD, LCSW, REAT, CST, RYT-200 is the founder of Carnelian. They founded Carnelian in 2021 with the desire to expand beyond the insurance-driven healthcare model.

Nicole has over 10 years of experience in the social work field. Prior to founding Carnelian, Nicole worked in long-term care and residential settings, home health and hospice, non-profit agencies, higher education, insurance-based private practice, and hospitals. Nicole’s experience with different approaches, clients, and environments informs their unique approach to healing.

Today, Nicole’s primary work is with individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships. Nicole’s clinical interests include sex, sexuality, eroticism, intimacy, gender, pleasure, mindfulness, creative-expression, and spirituality. Nicole is a LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex positive, kink aware, Sex Worker-Affirmative, and polyamorous / CNM inclusive therapist.
